Job summary

Monarch Communities is seeking an Executive Chef to lead the dining department for a senior living community in New Jersey. The role oversees staffing, menu planning, and service quality while ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines.

The Executive Chef will develop and implement policies, manage budgets, and coordinate with leadership to provide nutritious, well-plated meals and a safe, sanitary dining environment for residents. Experience in senior living is preferred.

Qualifications

• College degree or certification preferably in culinary arts, hospitality, nutrition, or business.
• Minimum of two years of culinary services administration experience, preferably in senior living.
• ServSafe certification required.
• Experience in cost control, food management, and diet therapy.
• Proficiency in computer skills, including Windows, Outlook, Excel.

Responsibilities

• Promote Monarch Communities' mission and core values to residents, visitors, and the community.
• Interact with prospective residents and families to support occupancy growth.
• Develop strategies for labor, occupancy, expenses, and quality of services.
• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate dining staff.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and serve high-quality meals and accommodate dietary needs.
• Maintain accurate temperature logs and inventory records.
