Job summary

Atria Senior Living is seeking a full-time Driver in Austin, TX to provide safe and courteous transportation for residents and support the Engage Life team. You will coordinate vehicle maintenance, assist residents getting in and out of vehicles, and ensure daily travel charges are submitted.

The role requires five+ years of driving experience, a CDL, and the ability to operate large passenger vehicles and related equipment, with adherence to Atria’s safety and MVR policies.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma or equivalent.
• Five or more years of driving experience.
• Commercial driver's license required.
• Able to operate a 7–16 passenger bus and related equipment.
• Experience with vehicle emergency repairs and basic maintenance.
• Knowledge of streets within an 8-mile radius of the community.
• Driving responsibilities required; MVR policy compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, courteous transportation and support staff for directors.
• Coordinate vehicle pre-maintenance, maintenance and repair.
• Drive to social and other destinations according to schedule.
• Assist residents into and out of the vehicle safely.
• Secure wheelchairs and stabilize them during trips.
• Perform safe driving techniques and report maintenance needs.
• Maintain trip records and vehicle maintenance logs.
• Deliver groceries and belongings to residents’ apartments.
• Support Engage Life activities and programs as needed.
• Submit travel charges to the business office daily.
• Maintain a clean driving record and handle emergencies.
• Report unsafe conditions to leadership and perform other duties as assigned.
