Stoney Brook of Hewitt is seeking a Full-time Dining Services Manager to oversee the Food Services department, balancing resident satisfaction with meal quality, staffing, and budgets. The role emphasizes hands-on cooking about 80% of the time and leadership of culinary staff in a senior living setting.

Shifts run 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with potential 6:00 a.m. starts or 7:00 p.m. late nights for coverage. Excellent benefits accompany a path for growth and training within 4K Housing communities.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of progressive culinary experience with supervisory responsibility.
• Senior living or healthcare experience preferred, but not required.
• Food Protection Manager Certification.
• Knowledge of senior nutrition and therapeutic diets (e.g., pureed, mechanical soft).
• High School diploma or GED; culinary school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily kitchen and dining operations balancing resident satisfaction, meal quality, staffing, and budgets.
• Hands-on culinary production ~80% of time while directing workflow.
• Hire, train, schedule, coach, and evaluate culinary staff; provide real-time guidance during meals.
• Plan menus and events reflecting resident preferences and dietary needs in coordination with clinical staff.
• Manage food purchasing, inventory, vendors, labor costs, and waste to meet budget goals.
• Maintain food safety, sanitation, and infection control standards; address issues promptly.
• Gather resident/family feedback and improve dining via committees and events.
• Collaborate with nursing, activities, and leadership on dietary needs and emergency response.
