Job summary

Homewood Retirement Centers is seeking a part-time Food Service Aide to deliver meals to residents and guests in a warm, restaurant-style setting. You will assist with meal trays, help prepare rooms for dining, and ensure high-quality service while maintaining confidentiality and hygiene standards.

The role requires standing and walking during an eight-hour shift, lifting up to 25 pounds, and interacting with residents in a courteous manner.

Qualifications

• Food service experience preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and printed instructions.
• High degree of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
• Ability to do repeated pushing of tray carts, and lifting or carrying a minimum of 25 pounds throughout an eight hour shift.
• Ability to stand and walk throughout the course of an eight hour shift.
• Must treat residents and the public with kindness and respect in a cheerful manner.
• Ability to use the point of service system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver food to residents and guests in a restaurant-style environment.
• Wait on tables in a restaurant-style manner using proper serving etiquette.
• Assist with meal preparation and tray assembly.
• Deliver tray carts and nourishment to nursing areas.
• Maintain daily cleaning and sanitation of dishes, utensils, equipment and work areas.
• Respect confidentiality of residents' information.
• Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor.
