Job summary

Benchmark-Senior-Living is seeking a Food Service Director to lead a hospitalitiy-style kitchen, cook and serve meals, and engage with residents. The role blends hands-on cooking with on-site leadership within our assisted living community.

You will work closely with cooks, ensure dietary guidelines are followed, and become a liaison between residents and staff while maintaining budgets and reporting. Weekend work is required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow written and oral instructions.
• Knowledge of dietary procedures and Health Department regulations for food service operations.
• Able to serve food and beverages promptly to residents.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Primarily a standing position for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of food service professionals and complete daily administrative reports.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal and local regulations as well as Benchmark’s SOPs.
• Report accidents and incidents to Executive Director.
• Follow planned menus per dietary guidelines and maintain records.
• Maintain cleanliness of all work areas.
• Inspect storage rooms and related spaces for upkeep and infection control.
• Review temperature documentation for appliances to ensure proper temps.
• Address resident concerns about service promptly.
• Manage department budget and financial records.
• Conduct monthly food advisory board meetings with residents and keep minutes.
• Work at least one weekend day each week.
