Job summary

Alamance House in Burlington, NC is seeking a compassionate Dietary Aide to join our culinary team and help provide nutritious, high-quality meals for residents.

You will assist with meal service, uphold food safety standards, and collaborate with the dietary team to support a positive dining experience for residents. Prior food service experience is preferred, but not required, and strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a food service role is preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Meal Assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & Cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes, utensils, and equipment as needed.
• Resident Support: Provide meal assistance and ensure a positive dining experience for residents.
• Food Safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including storage, handling, and sanitation practices.
• Inventory Support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, report shortages or needs.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure smooth kitchen and dining operations.
• Resident Engagement: Fulfill special dietary requests and respect residents’ preferences during meals.
