Job summary

Alamance House in Burlington, NC seeks a dedicated Dietary Aide to join our caregiving culinary team. You will assist with meal preparation and service, support residents during dining, and help maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment.

Responsibilities include following dietary plans, upholding food safety standards, and collaborating with staff to ensure a positive dining experience for residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Meal assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & cleanliness: Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas. Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed.
• Resident support: Provide meal assistance to residents as needed, including helping with meal setup and serving, and ensuring a positive dining experience.
• Food safety: Follow all food safety protocols, including proper food storage, handling, and sanitation practices, to ensure food is safe for consumption.
• Inventory support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies, checking inventory, and notifying the Dietary Manager of any shortages or supply needs.
• Team collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to ensure the kitchen and dining areas run smoothly, assisting with food prep and meal service as directed.
• Resident engagement: Assist in fulfilling special dietary requests and ensuring residents’ individual preferences and needs are met during meal times.
