Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Food service experience preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge of food safety practices.
• Ability to follow directions and work efficiently as part of a team.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Meal assistance: Help prepare, portion, and serve meals to residents according to dietary plans and special requests.
• Sanitation & cleanliness: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas; wash dishes and equipment as needed.
• Resident support: Provide meal assistance during setup and serving to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Food safety: Follow all food safety protocols including proper storage and sanitation.
• Inventory support: Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies; notify manager of shortages.
• Team collaboration: Work with the dietary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
• Resident engagement: Fulfill special dietary requests and respect residents' preferences during meals.
