Job summary

Alamance House is seeking an experienced Cook to join our culinary team and provide nutritious, high-quality meals to residents. The role involves preparing meals per menu plans, ensuring dietary requirements are met, and maintaining a sanitary kitchen.

You will work closely with the Dietary Manager and kitchen staff, help train new team members, manage inventory, and respond to residents' dietary requests while adhering to safety regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous cooking experience in senior living, healthcare, or restaurant settings preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to follow recipes and meal plans.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, ensuring nutrition and resident preferences.
• Serve meals in a timely manner with high quality and proper presentation.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen following safety procedures.
• Collaborate with the Dietary Manager and kitchen staff; assist training of new staff.
• Assist with inventory management and report shortages or needs.
