Job summary

Hines is seeking a Manager, Design and Construction to serve as the Owner's representative for senior living projects in Southern California. The role covers from due diligence through closeout, ensuring schedule, budget, quality, and owner requirements are met.

You will coordinate architects, engineers, and contractors, develop and mentor junior staff, monitor budgets, and prepare cost estimates and updates while maintaining compliance with California regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction science, engineering, or related field; five+ years of construction or development experience; at least two years in a management role.
• Meaningful senior living construction experience in California is strongly preferred, including familiarity with regulatory requirements and procurement processes.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and technical manuals; communicate findings to the project team.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate design, preconstruction and construction activities for senior living projects in Southern California.
• Support early-stage pursuits, due diligence, budgeting, and constructability assessments.
• Interface with conceptual construction group and project teams on pricing, procurement strategies, and contracts.
