Job summary

Hines is seeking a Manager – Design & Construction to lead planning and delivery of development and capital projects across Northern California. You will work with Development Managers and senior team members to manage projects from preconstruction through closeout, while monitoring budgets, schedules, quality, safety, and overall delivery.

This role offers exposure to diverse asset types and requires coordinating with architects, engineers, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in planning, design, and construction of commercial real estate projects.
• Experience delivering ground-up developments, tenant improvements, or capital improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and delivery of development and capital projects from preconstruction through construction and closeout.
• Coordinate project budgets, schedules, procurement activities, reporting, and documentation.
• Partner with Development Managers during design, entitlement, permitting, bidding, construction, and turnover.
• Support design by coordinating architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors.
• Assist with budgeting, constructability reviews, value engineering, procurement strategies, and preconstruction planning.
• Monitor progress via site visits to ensure safety, quality, schedule, and budget alignment.
• Support contract administration, change management, project reporting, and closeout activities.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders, consultants, contractors, ownership groups, and public agencies to deliver projects.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships across project teams and foster a solutions-oriented culture.
