Job summary

Avamere at St. Helens in Oregon seeks a Culinary Services Director to lead dining operations in an assisted living community.

You will manage kitchen staff, plan nutritious menus, control budgets, ensure food safety compliance, and tailor meals for residents with special dietary needs, including those with cognitive decline. You will recruit and train staff, oversee daily culinary activities, coordinate special events, and maintain high resident satisfaction while upholding HIPAA and safety

Qualifications

• 3+ years in foodservice operations management, preferably in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality.
• Preferred degree in hospitality management, culinary arts, or business management.
• Preferred CDM certification.

Responsibilities

• Develop rotating menus balancing resident preferences with nutritional requirements and modified diets.
• Manage budgets, inventory, labor, and vendor relationships.
• Oversee daily operations of culinary departments, including hiring, training, and evaluations.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local sanitation and health codes (HACCP).
• Recruit, train, and supervise culinary and dining staff; conduct performance reviews.
