Job summary

Rose Glen Manor is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our culinary team and prepare nutritious, appealing meals for residents with dietary needs and preferences.

You will work closely with the Dietary Manager to ensure timely meal service, proper food handling, and a clean kitchen aligned with safety standards. Experience in senior living or healthcare is preferred, and compassion for residents is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in senior living, healthcare, or restaurant preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to follow recipes and meal plans.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to menus and dietary requirements.
• Serve meals in a timely manner with quality, portion control and presentation.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary kitchen environment following safety procedures.
• Collaborate with Dietary Manager and kitchen staff; assist training.
• Assist with inventory management and report shortages.
• Respond to special dietary requests and resident preferences.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and proper sanitation.
