Rose Glen Village in Wilkesboro, NC is seeking a dedicated cook to prepare meals that meet dietary requirements and resident preferences. You will follow menus, ensure nutritious, appetizing dishes, and support a warm residential dining experience.

You will work with the Dietary Manager and kitchen team to deliver timely service, maintain clean, sanitary conditions, manage basic inventory, and accommodate residents' special requests while upholding safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in senior living, healthcare, or restaurant setting preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to follow recipes and meal plans.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, ensuring nutrition and dietary needs are met.
• Serve meals promptly with high standards of quality, portion control, and presentation.

• Collaborate with Dietary Manager and kitchen staff; assist in training new staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Food Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, ensuring food is nutritious, appetizing, and prepared according to dietary requirements and resident preferences.
• Meal Service: Ensure meals are served in a timely manner, maintaining high standards of quality, portion control, and presentation.
• Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment by following food safety and sanitation procedures. Ensure proper storage and handling of food supplies.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Dietary Manager and kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and quality service. Assist in training new kitchen staff as needed.
• Inventory Control: Assist with inventory management and help track food supplies. Report shortages or order needs to the Dietary Manager.
• Resident Engagement: Respond to special dietary requests and accommodate residents’ food preferences, ensuring satisfaction with meals served.
• Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations, including safe food handling and proper sanitation practices.
