Milestone Retirement in Arlington, WA is seeking a Cook to join our culinary team. Under the direction of the Director of Culinary Services, you will prepare and serve meals that meet nutritional standards and resident preferences, while maintaining a clean and safe kitchen.

You’ll help train staff, ensure proper food storage and temperatures, and contribute to a positive dining experience for residents. We value teamwork, safety, and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of food service experience; three years preferred.
• Food Handler’s Permit (as required by state).
• First Aid certification required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Compassion for and desire to work with older adults.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals according to approved menus and dietary requirements.
• Ensure food is safely stored, cooked, and served at proper temperatures.
• Maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment, including all equipment and prep areas.
• Assist in training and mentoring culinary staff.
• Monitor and respond to resident preferences and satisfaction.
• Uphold safety and health standards, including food safety compliance.
• Foster teamwork and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment.
• Report any elder maltreatment or abuse as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
