Job summary

Cedarhurst of Crown Point is seeking a Cook to join our dining services team. This role focuses on preparing high-quality meals, meeting dietary needs, and maintaining safety and cleanliness within the kitchen.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least one (1) year experience as a cook is preferred.
• Applicable state/county licensure required.
• Food Manager Certification, or ability to obtain, is required.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in common digital tools and applications, including Microsoft Office programs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, and serve foods per menu cycles and recipes.
• Taste and assess food quality.
• Prepare special dietary meals as directed.
• Coordinate meal production with serving hours.
• Document temperature logs and cleaning schedules.
• Assist with training of new kitchen staff.
• Maintain food safety and infection control standards.
• Communicate with residents' families about wellbeing.
