Zebulon House seeks an experienced Cook to join our culinary team and provide nutritious, high-quality meals to residents. You will prepare meals according to menus and dietary requirements, with attention to taste, presentation, and resident preferences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in senior living/healthcare/restaurant preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to follow recipes and meal plans.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, ensuring meals are nutritious, appetizing, and meet dietary requirements and resident preferences.
• Meal Service: Ensure meals are served in a timely manner with high quality, portion control, and presentation.
• Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment following food safety procedures.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Dietary Manager and kitchen staff and assist in training new cooks.
• Inventory Control: Help track food supplies and report shortages or orders.
• Resident Engagement: Accommodate special dietary requests and resident preferences.
• Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations.
