Avamere is seeking a Cook to prepare nutritious, flavorful meals for residents across care levels, ensuring dietary needs are met and sanitation standards are maintained. You will support a warm dining experience reflecting a home-like atmosphere.

Responsibilities include daily menus, dietary accommodations, and collaboration with the Dietary/Dining Services Director and nursing staff to align care plans with resident diets.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of Cook experience in hospital or healthcare setting preferred.
• Current ServSafe Manager certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to read, write and follow directions and calculate recipes accurately.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with proper seasoning and temps.
• Prepare alternative options and snacks for changing appetites.
• Adapt recipes for dietary needs (low-sodium, diabetic-friendly, vegetarian, texture-modified).
• Accommodate memory care dining challenges with appropriate textures and pacing.
• Maintain a calm, inviting dining environment to promote socialization.
• Follow ServSafe and local health codes for safety and sanitation.
