Commonwealth Senior Living at Cedar Bluff is seeking a Cook to support dining services at our South Boston community. You will prepare, present, and serve meals, ensuring dietary requirements and quality standards are met.

The role requires at least 1 year of cooking experience, familiarity with health and safety guidelines, and strong teamwork. Full-time benefits include medical, life, disability, 401(k), and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of cooking experience required.
• Working experience in the retirement home industry preferred.
• Knowledge of food and catering trends, quality, production, sanitation, and presentation required.
• Knowledge of methods and procedures for serving food, sanitation, and safe food handling required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb.
• Effective communication skills.
• Highly flexible with strong interpersonal skills for a diverse environment.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Computer literacy including MS Word, Excel and e-mail.

Responsabilités

• Ensure all menu items are prepared and served according to departmental policies.
• Assure presentation of all menu items adheres to established standards.
• Prepare meals on menus and according to nutritional programs.
• Ensure meals meet dietary requirements and are served at proper temperatures.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
• Assist with training of new employees.
• Serve food in proper portions and temperatures.
• Adhere to policies and report any issues.
