Commonwealth Senior Living is seeking a Cook to prepare and serve meals for residents in a Norfolk, VA community. You will ensure menu items meet standards, follow nutritional guidelines, and maintain high quality and sanitation while supporting the dining services team.

The role includes flexible shifts, full-time or part-time options, and a benefits package. No remote work; on-site kitchen operations require physical stamina and teamwork to deliver meals on time.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of cooking experience required.
• Working experience in retirement home preferred.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safe food handling.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb required.
• Effective communication and teamwork.
• Flexible and willing to fill shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve menu items according to policies.
• Ensure presentation of items meets established standards.
• Prepare meals per menus and nutritional programs.
• Ensure meals meet dietary requirements of residents.
• Maintain quality and safety of food and proper storage.
• Operate kitchen equipment during preparation.
• Assist with training of new employees.
• Follow reporting procedures and regulations.
