Job summary

Plante Moran is seeking a Construction Project Manager with senior living client experience to oversee large-scale programs. You will lead client engagements, manage multiple vendors, and ensure budget adherence from preconstruction through construction.

Strong communication and risk management skills are essential. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in building and construction, with knowledge of design-to-budget processes and proficiency in MS Project, Bluebeam, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Qualifications

• Engineering/Architecture/Construction Management degree from an accredited college.
• 8+ years building, design, construction experience in PM, construction admin, or field management.
• Construction field experience on large-scale residential, commercial, or institutional work.
• Understanding of design process driving scope and budget development.
• Desirable: construction cost estimating experience.
• Desirable: experience with vertical construction.
• Proficient in Word, Bluebeam, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project Scheduling Software.
• Willing to reside in or near Chicago area or relocate; 1-2 days on-site client meetings weekly; overnight travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Provide program leadership by working with existing clients.
• Oversee multiple vendors and client stakeholders from design through construction and procurement.
• Advise on program risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Offer guidance on contracting methods, scheduling, and budget decisions.
• Provide advice on issue resolution aligned with project objectives.
• Coordinate with client management, architects, contractors, and other providers.
• Attend and participate in meetings with clients and project teams.
• Review vendor invoices, billings, and pay applications for budget compliance.
• Evaluate design/construction issues, RFI’s, and submittals during construction.
• Prepare and deliver client presentations and project updates.
• Ensure compliance with PMR policies on projects.
