Job summary

Cedarhurst of McHenry is seeking an Executive Director to lead a senior living community, ensuring high-quality resident care and regulatory compliance while driving financial and operational results.

The role leads department heads, manages 30–50 staff, oversees sales and occupancy growth, and represents the community with residents, families, and local partners to strengthen the community's reputation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of management experience preferred, with senior living experience strongly desired.
• Applicable state licensure is required.
• CPR or BLS certification preferred.
• Experience with accounting functions such as accounts payable and receivable, posting ledgers, balancing and reconciling accounts.
• Demonstrated proficiency in common digital tools and applications, including Microsoft Office programs and HR-related systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations including profit and loss, marketing, sales, regulatory compliance, and financial performance.
• Manage 3-5 supervisors supervising 30-50 employees across multiple departments.
• Create and manage department schedules and ensure key expectations are met.
• Lead, develop, and evaluate department heads; foster a culture of accountability and engagement.
• Support sales through tours, follow-ups, and coordination with leadership to maximize occupancy.
