Job summary

Waltonwood is seeking a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to support residents in our Charlotte, NC community. The PCA will assist with ADLs, bathing, toileting, mobility, medication administration, and social engagement.

The role reports to the Resident Care Manager and works within the Resident Care team to ensure high quality of life for residents. Applicants should have a High School diploma or GED and PCA certification in NC/VA.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• PCA certification/qualification is required in NC and VA.
• Caregiving or Med Tech experience is required.
• Experience with the elderly and memory impairment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow protocols regarding documenting medication and restocking med carts.
• Help with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) for residents, including toileting and meals.
• Participate in shift change meetings to communicate resident status or special needs.
• Respond to the resident emergency call system promptly.
• Provide emotional support and maintain a respectful, cheerful demeanor.
• Promote safety and wellbeing through procedures and use of safety equipment.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by the Wellness Coordinator and Resident Care Manager.
