Job summary

Waltonwood is seeking a PCA to support residents with daily living activities and compassionate care in our Waltonwood communities. The role involves assisting with ADLs, medication documentation, and ensuring resident comfort and safety throughout shifts.

Responsibilities include collaborating with Caregivers and Med Techs, responding to emergencies, and maintaining accurate records of resident status and needs. A caring, respectful approach is essential in this rewarding position.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• PCA is required in NC and VA.
• Caregiving or Med Tech experience is required.
• Experience working with the elderly and those with memory impairment.

Responsibilities

• Follow protocols regarding documenting medication and restocking the med carts.
• Assist residents with ADLs (toileting, showering, assisting with meals, mobility) and daily activities.
• Participate in shift change meetings to communicate resident status or special needs.
• Respond to the resident emergency call system in a timely manner.
• Provide emotional support to residents with respect, dignity, and a positive demeanor.
• Promote safety and wellbeing via written/verbal procedures and safety equipment.
• Assist with janitorial tasks as needed.
• Act as a shift supervisor to ensure resident care needs are met.
• Collaborate with Caregivers and Med Techs during shifts; assist with transfers.
• Work with physicians and the pharmacy to ensure proper medication orders.
• Report changes in resident medical conditions to physicians, families, and leadership.
