Job summary

Ovation by Avamere in Omaha seeks a Bartender to create a welcoming social atmosphere, mix beverages, host events, and ensure responsible service. You will engage residents, families, and guests, balancing hospitality with residents' dietary needs and cognitive care plans.

Responsibilities include serving beverages, assisting with happy hours and theme nights, maintaining bar inventory, and upholding cleanliness and safety standards in a senior living setting.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old to serve alcohol.
• Prior bartending or restaurant experience is preferred.
• Patience, empathetic and warm demeanor, with a genuine passion for working with seniors.
• Food safety certification and Food Handler State Card required.
• Maintain confidentiality of resident information per HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages per recipes and guidelines.
• Accommodate residents’ dietary restrictions and preferences.
• Prepare and serve light pub fare and garnishes.
• Verify legal drinking age and ensure responsible service.
• Greet residents by name and provide a warm, dignified experience.
• Assist Life Enrichment and Activities teams with events and theme nights.
• Maintain inventory and submit orders; set up bar and keep a clean workspace.
• Operate POS systems and handle payments per tipping policy.
• Follow state and community sanitation, hygiene, and safety guidelines.
