Job summary

Sagora Senior Living’s Lyndale Abilene Memory Care is seeking a Lifestyle Assistant to support the Lifestyle Director in planning and leading programs, activities, and events for residents. You will help create a warm, engaging, and enriching environment that promotes social and physical well-being.

You will build relationships with residents and families, assist with monthly calendars and newsletters, and support dining services and outings as needed.

Qualifications

• 6 months or more in a similar role or experience with event planning, fitness instruction, or administrative work.
• Affinity toward senior adults.
• Organizational and customer service skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English with residents and staff.
• Evenings and weekends required for special events.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lifestyle Director with program planning.
• Lead lifestyle programs and activities, including setup and teardown for events.
• Assist with creation and distribution of the monthly calendar and newsletter.
• Support resident outings before, during and after.
• Communicate daily with residents and associates regarding activities.
• Assist in dining room services as needed to ensure quality dining for residents.
• Maintain records of activities, events, programs, and monthly calendars.
• Assist volunteers with programs and events as directed.
• Attend and lead associate meetings and dementia-focused training as directed.
• Maintain awareness around community safety related to residents.
