Americare Senior Living in Springfield, MO is seeking a creative, organized Activity Director to lead resident engagement programs in our skilled nursing community. You will plan, organize, facilitate, and direct recreational activities that promote residents' well-being and fit individualized care plans.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma required; additional education related to recreation, activities, or life enrichment preferred but not required.
• Previous experience planning and managing a recreational activity program in a senior living or healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to document accurately and collaborate with clinical and care teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, facilitate, and direct recreational activity programs for residents
• Develop, publish, and maintain a monthly activity calendar
• Ensure activities align with resident abilities, interests, and care plans
• Lead group and individual activities that promote engagement and socialization
• Participate in resident assessments and care planning as part of the interdisciplinary team
• Document resident participation, responses, and progress in charts and periodic reports
• Communicate resident reactions, progress, or regression to medical staff and care team members
• Coordinate special events, celebrations, and community activities
• Supervise and support activity staff and volunteers as applicable
