Job summary

McKnight Place Extended Care in St. Louis, MO seeks a Director of Activities to design and lead meaningful programs for skilled nursing residents.

You will develop individualized plans, supervise an Activity Assistant team, and serve as a welcoming representative to residents, families, and the local community. Ideal candidates hold 3–5 years in geriatrics or recreation, prior management experience, and Missouri Activity Director certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in geriatrics, recreation, activities, or related administration
• Prior management experience including hiring and scheduling
• Missouri Activity Director certification preferred
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Strong communication with residents, families, staff

Responsibilities

• Learn residents' interests and build individualized activity plans
• Complete activity portions of assessments and care plans on time
• Plan in-room and one-on-one visits for residents
• Create and distribute monthly activity calendars
• Hire, schedule, coach, and evaluate Activity Assistants
• Manage department budget and spend within it
• Keep residents safe during all programs and outings
• Follow facility policies and the Activity Departmental Manual
• Report maintenance and safety concerns
