Job summary

Nashua Crossings at Benchmark Senior Living is seeking a Part Time Every Other Weekend Activity Assistant to organize and implement programs that meet the individual needs of our residents. The role supports the Activity Director in planning and delivering activities across cognitive, physical, social, and spiritual domains.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or higher, be knowledgeable about aging and dementia, and bring enthusiasm for recreational activities.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma, bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and knowledge of aging and disability issues.
• Possesses training and knowledge in recreational activities
• Possesses training and knowledge of Alzheimer’s and related dementias

Responsibilities

• Assists in development and implementation of an engaging seven day a week activity program.
• Leads and conducts one-on-one, small group, and large group activities per schedule.
• Supports independent activity pursuits and motivates participation.
• Considers residents’ background, abilities, interests, and cognitive capacity in activities.
• Communicates changes in residents’ condition or behavior to Harbor Care Director.
• Stays with group during excursions.
