Job summary

Benchmark Senior Living in Hanover, MA seeks a compassionate Programming/Activity Assistant for Sundays and Tuesdays, 9am-5pm, part-time. The role supports the Activity Director by planning and delivering programs to meet residents’ physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs in a caring environment.

You will lead activities, foster participation, and help create a warm, inclusive community while adapting activities to individual resident needs and documenting participation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Experience with recreational activities
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s and related dementias
• Maintains confidentiality and professionalism

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement an engaging seven-day activity program
• Lead one-on-one, small group and large group activities
• Support independent activity pursuits for residents
• Understand residents' background, abilities, and interests to tailor activities
• Encourage participation and motivation in programming
• Report changes in residents’ condition to the Activity Director
• Stay with group during excursions
