Job summary

Benchmark Senior Living LLC is seeking a compassionate Programming/Activity Assistant to design and run activities for residents, addressing psychological, physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs in a nurturing setting.

You will assist the Activity Director, coordinate seven-day programming, and engage residents through individual and group activities while honoring confidentiality and residents’ preferences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, or bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in aging and disability issues.
• Training in recreational activities.
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s and related dementias.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks while maintaining confidentiality and composure.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an engaging seven-day-a-week activity program.
• Lead one-on-one, small group, and large group activities per schedule.
• Encourage independent activity pursuits for residents.
• Understand residents' backgrounds and needs to tailor activities.
• Communicate changes in residents’ condition to Harbor Care Director.
