Benchmark Senior Living is seeking a compassionate Programming/Activity Assistant to organize and implement programs for residents, supporting the Activity Director in all programming needs. The role emphasizes holistic care, engagement, and activity-based approaches to enhance residents’ well-being.

The position involves leading diverse activities, coordinating schedules, and promoting participation in daily programming. It requires a high school diploma and knowledge of aging and dementia care.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and knowledge of aging and disability issues.
• Training and knowledge in recreational activities.
• Training and knowledge of Alzheimer’s and related dementias.
• Maintains a high level of confidentiality regarding residents, staff, and the community.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and work well under pressure.

Responsabilités

• Develop and implement a seven-day activity program that is engaging.
• Lead one-on-one, small group and large group activities per schedule.
• Support and direct independent activity pursuits.
• View all care aspects as activity-based to assist residents.
• Know residents’ backgrounds, participation needs, abilities, interests, and attention span.
• Encourage residents to attend and participate in programming.
• Communicate changes in residents’ condition or behavior to Harbor Care Director.
• Stay with group during excursions.
