Job summary

Healthwin Health & Rehabilitation in South Bend, IN is seeking an Activities Assistant to support the Activities Director in planning engaging resident activities. You will assist with transportation and outings, including operating the facility bus when needed, to promote socialization and overall well-being.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, strong communication skills, and a caring attitude toward seniors.

Qualifications

• Must enjoy working with older adults and demonstrate patience, compassion, and enthusiasm.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred or required per facility policy.
• Valid driver’s license with safe driving record required for transportation duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist planning, organizing, and leading daily activities for residents.
• Encourage participation while respecting preferences, abilities, and interests.
• Lead group activities like games, arts and crafts, music, and exercise.
• Provide one-on-one engagement for residents not in group programs.
• Help decorate activity areas for events and holidays.
• Accompany residents on outings, appointments, and shopping trips.
• Safely operate the facility bus/van and perform safety checks.
• Maintain attendance records and communicate resident interests to the care team.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized activity environment.
