Job summary

Bethesda Care Center is seeking an Activities Aide to plan and implement engaging activities that promote mental, physical, and emotional well-being for residents. You will work closely with the activities director to tailor programs to individual needs and preferences.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and while prior experience with seniors is a plus, compassionate communication and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience working with seniors or in a healthcare setting an asset (Preferred).
• Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Physical ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents as needed.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement individualized activities for residents, including arts and crafts, games, exercise programs, and social events.
• Encourage resident participation and socialization through group activities and one-on-one interactions.
• Collaborate with the activities director to develop and implement activity programs that meet the needs of our diverse resident population.
• Assist with the planning and execution of special events, such as birthday celebrations and holiday parties.
• Maintain accurate records of resident activities and participation.
