Job summary

Pruitthealth Corporation in Georgia seeks an Activities Director HCC to design and direct a resident-focused recreation program. You will lead staff, manage resources, and coordinate activities to promote physical, mental and psycho-social well-being of Residents at Whitaker Glen.

Responsibilities include planning engaging daily and monthly activities, maintaining calendars, and ensuring safety. Qualifications include two years college coursework in related fields and relevant supervision

Qualifications

• Minimum two years college education with courses in recreation, education, social work, other behavioral sciences or clinical services.
• Two years’ experience in a social or recreational program within the past five years, with one year full-time in a resident activities program in a long term health care setting; or one year in a supervisory role within a recreation program.
• Eligible for certification as therapeutic Recreation Specialist or as an Activities professional by a recognized accrediting body.
• Additional qualifications include Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant, or satisfactory.

Responsibilities

• Gathers information to design Recreation programs that meet the functional levels, needs and interests of each resident.
• Develops and provides individual and group activities for Residents that reflect interests and accommodate various hours.
• Monthly activities calendar is provided to each Resident.
• Develops and implements procedures to inform Residents of upcoming activities.
• Develops and updates Recreation Services policies and procedures reflecting the facility’s philosophy.
• Participates in the development of the department budget and provides financial information as needed.
• Hires and retains qualified staff; conducts interviews, performance reviews and corrective actions.
• Maintains current skills through continuing education and applies knowledge to responsibilities.
• Participates in fire and disaster drills and performs duties to assure Resident safety.
• Plans and organizes Recreational Activities, including monthly, daily tasks and annual events.
