Job summary

Cura Health in Minnesota is seeking an Activities Assistant to join our dedicated team. You will plan and lead engaging activities that promote socialization, independence, and well-being for residents.

The role requires strong communication, dependability, creativity, and teamwork. Some weekend rotation is required; previous experience is helpful but not required. We offer a supportive environment with training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Dependable, organized, creative, and able to work well as part of a team.
• Ability to work effectively with older adults and residents with varying physical and cognitive abilities.
• Previous experience in activities, recreation, healthcare, or long-term care is preferred but not required.
• This position requires an every other weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead engaging individual and group activities.
• Assist in the dining room with meals and room tray pass.
• Assist residents with meal tickets and ensure correct food orders.
• Encourage participation based on individual interests and abilities.
• Provide one-on-one activities and visits as needed.
• Assist residents to and from activities.
• Help coordinate outings, special events, and holiday celebrations.
• Maintain activity calendars, participation records, and required documentation.
• Keep activity areas and supplies organized, clean, and safe.
• Build positive relationships with residents and families.
• Follow facility policies, resident rights, and regulatory requirements.
