Job summary

Ivy Park at Monterey is a premier senior living community in California seeking an Activity Assistant to organize and promote activities that enhance residents' independence and quality of life. The role supports the Activity Director and engages volunteers to deliver a rich calendar of events.

You will coordinate social activities, family events, movies, exercise sessions, clubs and educational programs while ensuring safety and a welcoming atmosphere for residents and staff alike.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prefer one year of experience coordinating or teaching activities with seniors.
• Requires a valid Class C license with Passenger Endorsement (Class B/C preferred).
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint).
• Must pass criminal background check and health screening tests (TB as applicable).
• May require vaccination and PPE per regulatory guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist Activity Director to create a vibrant social atmosphere and promote resident participation.
• Develop, recruit, manage and schedule community volunteers as needed.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, staff and supervisors.
• Maintain safety and security for staff and residents following safety standards.
• Able to operate community vehicles when required.
• Foster teamwork across departments.
