Job summary

Copper Ridge Nursing & Assisted Living Center in Maryland is looking for a positive Activities Assistant to plan and coordinate events that promote socialization, relaxation, and recreation for residents. You will create and manage daily, weekly, and monthly activities tailored to residents' needs.

Responsibilities include organizing events, managing logistics, tracking participation and budgets, and ensuring safety policies are followed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; certifications may be required.
• Experience in nursing home settings or recreational activities is preferred.
• Must pass background check and drug screening; provide vaccination records as required.
• Physical ability to walk, stand, lift up to 50 pounds, and meet other physical demands.
• Strong organization, time-management, and verbal/written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly events to promote socialization, relaxation, and recreation.
• Implement activities that accommodate individuals with special needs.
• Manage logistics including phone calls, advertising, inventory, and budget management.
• Observe participants to gauge enjoyment and gather feedback to improve events.
• Maintain records of event planning, participant interest, and notable events.
• Report medical concerns or observations and ensure events run on time and on budget.
• Provide participants with event instructions and enforce safety procedures.
