Job summary

Copper Ridge Nursing & Assisted Living Center is seeking a positive and compassionate full-time Activities Assistant to plan and coordinate events that encourage socialization, relaxation, and recreation among residents/patients. You will create and manage daily, weekly, and monthly events tailored to their needs and interests.

The role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to manage logistics and budgets, and a commitment to safety and quality of care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and certain certifications may be required.
• More education or experience in a nursing home setting is preferred, recreational activities, event planning, or related fields may be preferred.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening and provide required vaccination records.
• Physical fitness, ability to walk, dance, stand, lift, or meet other physical demands.
• Adaptability, strong organization, and time management skills.
• Excellent resource management, computer, record-keeping, interpersonal, decision-making, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Patience and compassion when dealing with others.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and early mornings.
• Willingness to adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate daily, weekly, and monthly events to promote socialization, relaxation, and recreation.
• Implement activities that accommodate individuals with special needs.
• Manage logistics to ensure successful event execution, including phone calls, advertising, inventory, and budget management.
• Observe participants to gauge their enjoyment and gather feedback to improve events.
• Maintain records of event planning, participant interest, and notable events.
• Report medical concerns or observations.
• Ensure events are well-provisioned, staff is trained, and events take place on time and within budget.
• Provide participants with event instructions.
• Adhere to and enforce all safety procedures.
