Job summary

WHOOP is seeking an Assistant General Counsel, Litigation to oversee and manage litigation and regulatory enforcement matters. The role reports to the Chief Legal Officer (CLO) and will help develop and implement strategy across commercial disputes, consumer class actions, IP, employment, and regulatory investigations.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• 7+ years of relevant legal experience, including experience at a nationally recognized law firm and/or an in-house department.
• Experience as the lead or managing attorney on complex litigation with strong strategy and procedure knowledge.
• Ability to balance legal risk with business considerations and provide actionable advice to executives.
• Experience building and improving legal processes, playbooks, and operational infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Own the Company's litigation portfolio, including strategy, oversight, and resolution of lawsuits and other disputes.
• Develop litigation strategy for significant matters, including evaluating claims and defenses and settlement positions.
• Provide senior leadership with clear assessments of litigation risk, costs, and strategic options.
• Select, retain, and manage outside counsel with clear expectations on strategy and budgets.
• Oversee discovery and evidence-preservation obligations, including e-discovery strategy and technology.
