McDermott Will & Schulte in Chicago seeks a Legal Practice Specialist to provide administrative support to multiple attorneys in the Litigation Practice Group. The role requires solutions-minded professionals with strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

The candidate should have at least five years of litigation experience, familiarity with court rules, and experience with leading litigation tools such as PACER, Westlaw, Lexis, Relativity, and File & ServeXpress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or related legal work experience.
• At least five (5) years of litigation experience.
• Knowledge of court rules and civil procedures in State and Federal jurisdictions.
• Proficiency with Relativity, PACER, CM/ECF, Westlaw, Lexis and File & ServeXpress preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Support all aspects of trial preparation, including handling logistics and supporting at trial as necessary.
• Edit, proofread, and redline documents and correspondence for accuracy.
• Review prebills and coordinate with billing to ensure timely client billing.
• Manage attorney calendars, travel logistics, and meeting arrangements; input time entries.
• Organize and maintain paper and electronic files in accordance with firm policies.
