Job summary

FSA Federal is seeking a Paralegal III to support the United States Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of Louisiana. You will assist the Narcotics and Violent Crime Section with complex legal documents, case files, and courtroom preparations.

The role requires a paralegal certificate or HS diploma with experience, strong MS Office skills, and familiarity with legal procedures. A U.S. Citizenship background investigation is required and you will coordinate with AUSAs and court personnel.

Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate or HS Diploma / GED with additional 1 year paralegal experience.
• At least 5 years of paralegal experience required.
• Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Access, and Adobe Acrobat Professional; Relativity a plus.

Responsibilities

• Examines, prepares, and processes a variety of legal documents including complaints, motions, orders, and subpoenas.
• Obtains information from files or sources and submits documents to AUSAs or court.
• Prepare indictments, complaints, search warrants, judgments, applications, and notices in accordance with procedural rules.
• Assembles trial notebooks, jury instructions, and witness/exhibit lists for trial preparation.
• Docketing duties: open/update/close cases, track dates, and manage calendars.
