Job summary

Qualifications

• Paralegal Certificate or HS Diploma with paralegal experience.
• Experience with automated litigation support and legal resources.
• Knowledge of forfeiture law and trial experience preferred.
• Strong writing and communication skills, both oral and written.
• Excellent organizational and prioritization abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorney in reviewing and digesting case material and preparing legal references.
• Evaluate new cases and reference facts and standards.
• Assist in determining probable cause by reviewing reports and evidence.
• Conduct legal research using databases and public records.
• Prepare discovery materials, summaries, and organize witnesses.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and proposed orders.
• Organize files and indexing exhibits; summarize depositions and testimony.
• Provide training to other personnel as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
