Job summary

FSA Federal is hiring a Paralegal/Legal Assistant III to support the USAO mission. The role involves reviewing case materials, preparing digests with legal references, and assisting attorneys in pretrial discovery and case development.

Responsibilities include handling complex cases, researching laws, preparing legal documents, and organizing files and exhibits. Strong writing, communication, and organizational skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Paralegal Certificate or HS diploma with paralegal experience
• Proficient in legal research and case analysis
• Strong writing and oral communication skills
• Experience supporting attorneys in federal cases preferred
• Ability to multi-task and manage diverse duties

Responsibilities

• Assist attorney by reviewing case material and preparing digests with legal references
• Evaluate new and complex cases against standards and facts
• Support probable cause determinations by reviewing reports and evidence
• Conduct legal research using various databases and public records
• Assist in pretrial by organizing discovery and summarizing depositions
• Prepare pleadings, motions, and proposed orders
• Organize files, documents, and indexing exhibits
• Summarize documents and proceedings to aid attorneys
• Generate data reports, charts, and trial exhibits from databases
• Provide training to other personnel as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
