Job summary

Ballard Spahr is seeking an experienced litigation paralegal for the Portland office with hybrid schedule and travel to Seattle as projects require. You will manage large class action matters, organize cases, handle discovery, draft documents, and coordinate with attorneys and clients.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree and/or paralegal certificate with 7+ years in a law firm, strong MS Word/Excel/Outlook skills, proficiency with NetDocs and Relativity, and familiarity with Court Alert

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate; 7+ years in a litigation paralegal role.
Deep knowledge of state and federal court rules and e-filing procedures.
Proficiency with NetDocs, Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Adobe PDF.
Strong experience with Relativity and Court Alert is highly desirable.
Experience with class actions, labor/employment or bankruptcy litigation is desirable.

Responsibilities

Manage large and complex caseloads, including class actions.
Case organization and discovery.
Fact gathering and research.
Drafting legal documents and preparing correspondence for attorney review.
Court document preparation and filing in state and federal Courts.
Assist with all phases of trial, arbitration, hearing and depositions.
Coordinate efforts with attorneys, clients, outside counsel, opposing counsel, other parties, and vendors.
