Job summary

CGS Federal seeks an experienced Senior Litigation Paralegal to support a fast-paced in-house government legal team. The role focuses on eDiscovery, workflow management, and attorney support within a dynamic portfolio.

Qualifications

• Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, with at least one year of study
• Minimum two years of litigation paralegal experience; trial experience helpful
• Experience in automated litigation support and knowledge of federal/state court systems
• Excellent written and oral communication; proficient with Lexis and Westlaw
• Hands‑on familiarity with word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware
• Knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources
• Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of complex technical legal documents for litigation
• Review incoming documents and materials and assess case status
• Prepare indictments, arrest warrants, subpoenas, motions, and legal memoranda
• Obtain information from files and authorities for inclusion in documents
• Ensure documents conform to local court rules and formatting standards
• Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including exhibits and witness notebooks
• Coordinate with victim/witness specialists per guidelines
• Notify staff of victim/witness issues and updates
• Verify citations using Westlaw/Lexis for accuracy
• Research to confirm citations match source material
• Proofread, edit, and revise briefs
• Electronically file documents using CM/ECF
• Develop tables of contents and indices for briefs
• List cited cases and references in briefs
• Compose correspondence requiring legal terminology
• Transmit proposed orders to court; request extensions of time
• Advise on actions in cases referred by agencies
• Notify attorneys of issues affecting cases
• Scan and link case materials into discovery databases; manage databases
• Upload/download discovery documents from law enforcement partners
• Manage discovery processing and production
• Bates-stamp and redact materials using Adobe Acrobat; IPRO Eclipse usage
• Send continuing discovery to defense counsel
• Maintain electronic case files and calendar deadlines in Outlook
