CGS Federal is seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Paralegal to join our fast-moving in-house government legal team in Detroit. The role focuses on supporting litigation portfolios, eDiscovery activities, workflow management, and attorney support.

You will engage in document preparation, legal research, and trial preparation, working with Westlaw and Lexis, and coordinating with the victim/witness program to ensure compliance with guidelines.

Qualificações

• Paralegal certificate or JD or ABA-accredited law school enrollment and at least one year of study.
• At least two years of litigation paralegal experience; trial experience is helpful.
• At least one year of automated litigation support; knowledge of federal and state court systems and legal resources.
• Excellent written and oral communication and knowledge of LEXIS/Westlaw.
• Hands-on familiarity with word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware.
• Familiarity with ESI tools and eDiscovery procedures.
• Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure.

Responsabilidades

• Prepares a variety of technical legal documents in complex format.
• Reviews incoming documents and assesses case status and needs.
• Prepares indictments, arrest warrants, summonses, true bills, motions, and subpoenas.
• Obtains required information from case files and law enforcement sources for legal documents.
• Ensures documents conform to local court rules and formatting requirements.
• Assists attorneys in trial preparation by organizing notebooks, exhibits, and lists.
• Coordinates with the victim/witness specialist on guidelines and rights provisions.
• Uses Westlaw and Lexis to verify citations and statutory references.
• Proofreads, edits, and revises legal briefs.
• Electronically files documents with the U.S. District Court via CM/ECF.
• Organizes tables of contents and indices for briefs.
• Maintains electronic case files and deadlines in the case management system and MS Outlook.
