Job summary

CGS, the in-house government services team, seeks a Senior Litigation Paralegal in Arlington, VA. You will support a fast-moving litigation portfolio, manage eDiscovery workflows, and assist attorneys with trial preparation and court filings.

The role requires paralegal certification or JD, 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience, and strong knowledge of Westlaw/Lexis. Excellent communication and document management skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires paralegal certificate, or JD, or currently attending an ABA-accredited law school, having completed at least one year of study
• At least two years of litigation paralegal experience is required; trial experience is very helpful
• At least one year of experience in automated litigation support; knowledge of federal and state court systems and legal research tools
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw
• Proficiency with common software (word processing, databases, spreadsheets, imaging) and familiarity with ESI tools and eDiscovery procedures
• Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure

Responsibilities

• Prepares a variety of technical legal documents in complex formats
• Reviews incoming documents and case materials
• Prepares indictments, warrants, summonses, subpoenas, and legal memoranda
• Obtains required information from case files and authorities for inclusion in documents
• Ensures documents conform to local court rules and formatting
• Assists attorneys in trial prep, including exhibits and witness notebooks
• Coordinates with victim/witness specialists on guidelines and services
• Verifies legal citations using Westlaw/Lexis
• Proofreads, edits, and revises briefs
• Files legal documents electronically via CM/ECF
• Organizes tables of contents and indices for briefs
• Maintains case files and calendars deadlines in MS Outlook
• Manages discovery databases and redacts materials with Adobe Acrobat
• Sends continuing discovery to defense counsel as directed
