Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) seeks a Senior Litigation Paralegal to join its fast-moving in-house government legal team in Albuquerque, NM. The role supports eDiscovery, workflow management, and attorney assistance in a dynamic litigation portfolio.

Your work includes preparing complex legal documents, managing discovery databases, filing in CM/ECF, organizing trial materials, and researching citations with Westlaw/Lexis. A paralegal certificate or JD is required.

Qualifications

Paralegal certificate or JD, or currently enrolled in ABA-accredited law school (having completed at least one year)
At least two years of litigation paralegal experience; trial experience helpful
Experience in automated litigation support; knowledge of federal and state court systems
Excellent written and oral communication; strong knowledge of legal research tools such as Lexis and Westlaw
Proficiency with MS Office, databases, and eDiscovery tools
Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure

Responsibilities

Prepare a variety of complex legal documents.
Review incoming documents and case materials.
Prepare indictments, warrants, subpoenas, motions, and legal memoranda.
Gather information from case files and sources for inclusion in documents.
Ensure documents conform to local court rules and style.
Assist attorneys in trial prep and organize exhibits and witness lists.
Coordinate with victim/witness specialists and staff.
Verify citations using Westlaw and Lexis; check accuracy and consistency.
Proofread, edit, and revise briefs.
Electronically file documents using CM/ECF system.
Organize tables of contents and indices for briefs; list cited authorities.
Compose original correspondence with legal terminology.
Transmit proposed orders to court; seek extensions as needed.
Advise on developments in cases referred by federal agencies.
Notify attorneys of issues; manage discovery databases and materials.
Bates-stamp and redact discovery materials; utilize IPRO Eclipse as needed.
Maintain electronic case files and calendars using MS Outlook; file waiver forms.
