Lyft seeks a bright, energetic attorney with 5+ years of litigation experience to join our expanding Legal Team. You will actively oversee litigation and partner with departments such as Claims, Risk, Safety, Policy, and Communications to craft solutions to novel legal challenges Lyft faces daily.

The role requires J.D., active state bar admission, and prior in-house or tech client experience. Flexible, remote work in the Los Angeles area with a strong emphasis on autonomous, high-impact work.

Qualifications

• 5+ years practicing law at a leading law firm or in-house.
• J.D. from a top-tier law school.
• Active member of a state bar in good standing.
• Preference for in-house experience and advising technology clients as outside counsel.
• Excellent problem-solving, judgment, communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee litigation as a hands-on lead, not just supervising outside counsel.
• Collaborate with Legal Team to develop litigation strategy aligned with Lyft business goals.
• Manage all aspects of litigation including discovery, motions, witnesses, and trial strategy.
• Assess matters to support resolution decisions and apply current law to Lyft products and services.
• Manage outside counsel with tactical guidance, staffing, and budgeting.
• Provide cross-functional legal guidance to management and other teams.
• Maintain communication with insurance carriers and third parties.
